THE FLATS — Week 9 of the 2021 NFL season saw many #ProJackets get a well-needed respite with bye weeks.
Pittsburgh punter Pressley Harvin III caught himself in an unlikely position when he became the Steelers’ only kicker available after their place kicker was injured on a fake. Harvin, who had already boomed four punts for 176 yards, including one inside the 20, then had to pull kickoff duty twice for the first time in his career. Harvin’s efforts were enough as Pittsburgh defeated the Bills 23-16.
Another #ProJacket kicker Harrison Butker saw his Chiefs get back on the winning track by downing the Giants 20-17. Butker finished a perfect 2-for-2 on field goals and 2-for-2 on PATs, while also blasting five kickoffs for at a 62.2-yard average.
The New England Patriots won their second in a row, taking a 27-24 thriller over the Chargers. Offensively lineman Shaq Mason helped the Patriots amass 269 total yards of offense, including 163 yards rushing.
