LAST MEETING: TB Charlie Rogers rushed for two TDs and returned a punt for another, and Tech set a school record for points against an ACC opponent in a 63-35 victory that clinched a share of the 1998 ACC title for the Yellow Jackets. Tech leads the overall series with Wake Forest, 16-5, and has won six of eight games against the Demon Deacons at Groves Stadium. Tech has won four straight against Wake Forest, including a 28-26 win on its last visit to Winston-Salem in 1997. The Demon Deacons last defeated the Jackets in 1994 by a 20-13 score in Atlanta. Tech also has won four straight against Wake Forest at Groves Stadium dating back to a 28-24 Deacon win in 1988.
