O'Neill And Anghelescu Fall In NCAA Doubles

ATHENS, GA. – Georgia Tech’s 23rd-ranked doubles pair of senior Jillian O’Neill and sophomore Alex Anghelescu were eliminated from the NCAA Doubles Championship 6-1, 6-2 by Pepperdine’s 32nd-ranked side of Khunpak Issara and Lorraine Guillermo Friday afternoon at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga.

O’Neill and Anghelescu finish the season with a 15-13 overall record and nine wins over ranked opponents. The Wave’s top pair will play the winner of Stanford’s second-ranked Mallory Burdette and Nicole Gibbs and Rice’s 26th-ranked team of Natalie Beazant and Dominique Harmath in the quarterfinals tomorrow.
