Marko Rajevac and David North each won singles matches and then teamed together to win in doubles to lead the Georgia Tech men’s tennis team Friday at the Southern Collegiate being held in Athens, Ga.
Rajevac posted a straight set (6-2, 6-3) win over Danny Dossetor of The Citadel while David North recorded a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Auburn’s Brett Hunter in the Division I Singles Bracket. The two then paired together in doubles to defeat Mercer’s team of Ohrstrom and Woofolk, 9-8 (5) in the Division I Doubles Bracket.
Also in the Division I Singles Bracket, Jordan Delass fell in three sets to Felix Insaurralde from East Tennessee State University, 7-6 (4), 3-6, 6-3.
In the Division II Singles Bracket, Zachary Rath and Scott Blackmon each recorded victories in their first matches. Rath posted a 6-3, 6-4 win over J.P. Boenasser from Florida Atlantic while Blackmon followed it up with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Adem Adlec from South Carolina. In the same division, George Gvelesiani lost to Prediag Burmazovic from South Carolina Upstate, 6-2, 6-3.
In other doubles action, Blackmon and Rath defeated Duke’s Samuleson and Walter, 9-7 while Delass and Gvelesiani lost to Martin and Thornton from Tennessee, 8-4.
