TOP STORYLINES

• After an offensive onslaught against non-conference Western Carolina after final exams finished, No. 7 Georgia Tech baseball will head on its final road trip of the regular season, taking on Duke at the DBAP on May 10-12.

• The Jackets currently hold a 0.5-game advantage on North Carolina for the Coastal Division and are tied for second overall in the ACC behind 15-6 Louisville.

• Georgia Tech also owns 11 wins against RPI top-25 rankings, more than any team but Arkansas (13). GT is one of just four teams with double-digit wins vs. top-25.

• Tech has faced the top three teams nationally in fewest hits allowed/9 innings (Georgia, UCLA and Louisville) a whopping nine times, and has five wins and two series victories against them.

• Georgia Tech and Duke have faced off 132 times since 1903 when it was known as Trinity College. Despite splitting the last 10 games, GT owns a 94-38 all-time advantage.

• Tech’s starting rotation this weekend will be the same as it was when it defeated then-No. 9 North Carolina: RHP Amos Willingham, LHP Connor Thomas and RHP Cort Roedig.

• Thomas currently ranks second in the ACC in strikeout-to-walk ratio at 5.47 and leads the league in walks allowed/9 innings at 1.64.

• Offensively, Tristin English is obliterating the ACC thus far. He currently leads the conference in ACC play in hitting (.403), slugging (.896), homers (10) and runs scored (29), while also ranking second in RBI (34) and on-base percentage (.473).

• Jackson Webb has also exploded at the plate. In the month of April he was second on the team, hitting .366 for 15 hits, two doubles, two triples and six RBI.

• Nick Wilhite also had an explosive April, hitting .319 from the nine-hole for 15 hits, two doubles, nine RBI and 12 runs scored.

• The middle infielder combo of Luke Waddell (SS) and Austin Wilhite (2B) are still keeping order both offensively and defensively. The two have combined for 134 putouts, while also recording 96 hits and 104 RBI.

• The 3-4-5 power of the lineup has proved to be absolutely lethal at the plate. In the last 10 games, Tristin English, Kyle McCann and Baron Radcliff have combined for 14 home runs.

• English earned Collegiate Baseball’s National Player of the Week honors for his three homers alone he crushed against Clemson.
