THE FLATS – After closing out non-conference play yesterday with a sweep of Northwestern, Georgia Tech women’s tennis returns to ACC action, visiting Pittsburgh and Syracuse this weekend. Tech plays at Pitt Friday at 3 p.m. and heads to Syracuse for an 11 a.m. match on Sunday.
THE SCENE: Georgia Tech, winners of the past nine matches and ranked No. 6, continues this three-match week hitting the road and plays the next four matches away from Atlanta. Tech enters the weekend with a 15-2 overall mark and 5-0 ledger in the ACC. Pittsburgh owns a 3-6 overall mark and is 0-5 in the ACC, while Syracuse stands at 5-7, 2-3 in the ACC.
ITA RANKINGS – In the latest ITA rankings released Tuesday, Tech boasts three Jackets in singles rankings: Rasheeda McAdoo (No. 46), Johnnise Renaud (No. 104) and Paige Hourigan (No. 113). In doubles, Tech’s duo of Rasheeda McAdoo and Johnnise Renaud sit at No. 19. Syracuse boasts one singles player ranked in No. 100 Valeria Salazar Garza and the No. 17 doubles tandem of Gabriela Knutson/Garza.
LAST TIME OUT – The Jackets closed out-of-conference play on Wednesday, sweeping Northwestern 7-0.
