No. 4 Women’s Tennis Hosts No. 3 Duke, No. 27 Wake Forest

THE FLATS – The No. 4 Georgia Tech women’s tennis team begins its final home stretch of the regular season, hosting No. 3 Duke and No. 27 Wake Forest at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex this weekend. The Blue Devils visit on Friday at 3 p.m. before the Demon Deacons arrive for a noon matchup on Sunday.

THE SCENE: Tech (14-4, 6-2 ACC) will look to rebound from a setback at Syracuse when it hosts the top-ranked ACC team in Duke on Friday. The Jackets have taken six of the past seven contests against the Blue Devils despite Duke winning in Durham last season to conclude the regular season. Tech has taken the last two meetings at home against Duke.

Duke comes into this weekend sitting atop the ACC standings as the only remaining team in the conference with an unblemished mark, boasting an 8-0 league record. Overall, the Blue Devils are 16-1 on the season with their only loss coming against North Carolina in the ITA National Team Indoor Championships. Since then, the Blue Devils have won 10-straight matches. Three Blue Devils have perfect league marks of 8-0.

Wake Forest (16-8, 4-5 ACC) has dropped three of its last four matches, most recently coming off a 4-3 loss at William & Mary. The Demon Deacons have claimed two ACC wins on the road this season, coming at Pittsburgh and Syracuse. Tech has won the last eight matches against Wake Forest and 15 of the last 16.

LIVE STATS: For both matches this weekend, fans will be available to follow along with the action with live stats and live video.
