ATLANTA – No. 23/22 Georgia Tech (34-8, 8-1 ACC) hosts North Carolina (27-16, 9-3) this weekend at Mewborn Field in a battle between the top two teams in the ACC standings. The Yellow Jackets and Tar Heels will play a doubleheader on Saturday and single game Sunday, both at 1 p.m.

Volunteers will be collecting donations as the Georgia Tech softball team will be raising money for the earthquake and tsunami victims in Japan. All of the proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross. There will be tables set up at each entrance to Mewborn Field and volunteers will also be passing through the stands.
Georgia Tech is 28-26 all-time against North Carolina, including 3-1 last year. Then-freshman pitcher Hope Rush no-hit the Tar Heels two times last season, including once in the semifinals of the ACC Tournament. The Jackets won two out of three games up Chapel Hill during the regular season and Rush hurled her first career no-no in the series finale.
