>> In the midst of a key stretch of games at Russ Chandler Stadium, No. 21 Georgia Tech hosts Duke this weekend in a battle of teams tied in the Coastal Division standings.
>> The series is underway Friday at 7 p.m., with both games on the weekend set for 1 p.m. Saturday’s game is an ACC Network broadcast with Mike Hogewood and Dan Bonner, and will be carried live on ESPN3 and a number of regional sports networks, including FS-South. All three games are live on WREK 91.1 FM in Atlanta.
>> Tech owns an 82-28 advantage in the all-time series that dates back to 1903, and the teams have met every year since 1980. All-time, the Jackets are 44-13 vs. Duke in Atlanta.
>> Junior Sam Dove continues to pace the offense with his .396 average, which is third in the ACC. Dove, who leads the ACC with 40 hits, brings a career-long 17-game hitting streak into the Duke series. He has 10 multi-hit games in the streak and is coming off a 6-for-12 weekend at Boston College.
>> Dove’s hitting streak is the longest at Tech since Jeff Rowland hit in 18-straight games in 2009. Victor Menocal’s 30-game hit streak in 2002 is the school record.
>> The Jackets have joined the fight against childhood cancer, and one player will shave his head following the Duke game on Sunday for every $200 raised by the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
