The Yellow Jackets bring a 3-0 record into the meeting on Wednesday, having picked up their third win of the season last Sunday, defeating Belmont, 58-45. Lorela Cubaj became the newest member of the Georgia Tech women’s basketball 1,000-career points club hitting the mark with a pair of free throws done the stretch. Cubaj finished with her second consecutive double-double and was one of two Jackets to finish with double-figure scoring numbers as Lotta-Maj Lahtinen led Tech with 17.
ETSU closes out a two-game homestand hosting the Yellow Jackets on Wednesday and seeks to move its record to 2-2 on the young season. The Buccaneers opened the season dropping a pair of road games at Cleveland State and Bowling Green, before grabbing a decision over Cornell. Jaila Roberts leads the Bucs offensively on the season, averaging 16.0 points per game, while Jakhyia Davis closely follows with 13.0 ppg. Davis also leads ETSU on the boards, securing a team-high 7.0 rebounds per game on average.
Georgia Tech and ETSU have met five times on the hardwood with the Yellow Jackets leading the all-time series, 5-0. The foes last met in 2019 in McCamish Pavilion with Tech taking the decision, 87-48. When competing in Johnson City, GT leads 1-0, with the lone meeting taking place in 1994.
