ATLANTA – The 18th-ranked Georgia Tech softball team (42-9, 9-2 ACC) will travel to Blacksburg, Va., for an Atlantic Coast Conference three-game series with newcomer Virginia Tech (34-17, 2-10 ACC) this Saturday and Sunday.
The Yellow Jackets and Hokies will play a doubleheader beginning at Noon on Saturday and a single game at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

The Yellow Jackets are riding an eight-game winning streak heading into this weekend, the second longest streak this season (13). Tech leads the ACC regular season standings at 9-2 and holds a two-game advantage over Virginia (7-4).
The Jackets lead the conference in batting average (.303), fielding percentage (.974), on base percentage (.384), slugging percentage (.407), runs scored (266), stolen bases (138), wins (42), walks (223) and earned run average (1.33).
Tech appears in the national rankings for the 12th consecutive week, the longest streak in program history. The Jackets are No. 18 in both the ESPN.com/USA Softball and USA Today/NFCA Top 25 Polls.
The Rambling Wreck has set or tied three school records already this season; stolen bases, stolen bases in a game (7) and tied the school record for longest winning streak (13).
The Yellow Jackets hold a 4-2 lead over the Hokies in the all-time series meetings. Tech held off a seventh inning rally by Virginia Tech last year at the Leadoff Classic for a 6-5 victory on Feb. 27, 2004. This will be the first conference meeting between the two programs.
