The Jackets are making their sixth consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Tech holds an 11-10 overall record, advancing to the NCAA Regional Championship Game in each of the last two seasons.
Tech has faced No. 1 seed Florida already once this season, falling by a 5-1 score at the NFCA Leadoff Classic Tournament on Feb. 24. The Jackets were swept by Texas in a doubleheader last season in Austin, Texas, 0-1 and 3-5. Tech is 2-2 overall against Stetson, defeating the Hatters 5-0 in DeLand, Fla., in the last meeting on March 22, 2005.
The Jackets lost to Virginia Tech earlier today in the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship Game, 2-0. The ACC had five teams receive bids into the tournament, with NC State and Virginia Tech earning No. 1 seeds, 15th and 16th overall, respectively. North Carolina and Florida State were each No. 2 seeds, along with the Jackets.
