No. 12 Tech Baseball Hosts Eastern Kentucky

March 19, 2002

ATLANTA – Looking to rebound from its first two-game losing streak of the season, the 12th-ranked Georgia Tech baseball team will host Eastern Kentucky for a two-game midweek series beginning on Tuesday afternoon at Russ Chandler Stadium. First pitch for both Tuesday and Wednesday is set for 4 p.m.

The Yellow Jackets enter the series at 14-3 overall, but stand at 0-2 in Atlantic Coast Conference play after dropping a pair of games last weekend at Wake Forest. Eastern Kentucky, of the Ohio Valley Conference, is 2-11 following a three-game sweep at the hands of Michigan State last weekend.

Georgia Tech will send sophomore right-handed Brian Burks (4-1, 1.47 ERA) to the mound on Tuesday where he will be opposed by Colonels’ senior righty Josh Thomas (0-0, 6.14). Wednesday’s pitching matchup will feature Tech freshman righty Kyle Schmidt (0-0, 1.93) and EKU freshman lefty Eric Anthrop (0-0, 6.75).

Tickets to all Georgia Tech baseball games are priced at $10 for reserved chairback seating, $4 for adult general admission and $2 for youth general admission. For more information, contact the Georgia Tech ticket office at (888) TECH-TIX.
