No. 12/9 Softball Travels To Georgia State For Single Game Tuesday

ATLANTA – Winners of eight straight games, the No. 12/9 Georgia Tech Softball team (18-2) heads to Panthersville for a 5 p.m. single game against Georgia State (12-5) Tuesday afternoon.

The Yellow Jackets are coming off a 5-0 weekend and their second straight Buzz Classic title. When the new polls come out this afternoon, Tech should move up a couple spots but is ranked No. 5 in the latest Ultimate College Softball poll which was released last night.

Redshirt senior Jen Yee continues to lead the ACC in the triple crown categories as she is batting .610 with 13 home runs and 31 RBI. Yee has scored 34 runs in 20 games and is slugging 1.373. She has 18 walks and just two strikeouts while reaching base more than 70 percent of the time. Freshman Hope Rush is second on the team and ACC with eight home runs and 23 RBI while batting .361. In addition, she is 9-2 with a 1.51 ERA in the circle. As a team, the Yellow Jackets are batting .307 with 42 home runs. Tech is out-scoring the opposition 146-49 and slugging .612.
