ATLANTA – Looking to regroup after dropping three games at Florida State last weekend, the 10th-ranked Georgia Tech baseball team will host in-state rival Mercer on Tuesday evening at Russ Chandler Stadium. First pitch is set for 7 p.m.
The Yellow Jackets enter Tuesday’s game at 32-8 overall and 8-6 in Atlantic Coast Conference play. Mercer, of the Atlantic Sun conference, is 17-24 after winning two of three games from Georgia State last weekend.
Georgia Tech will send sophomore right-handed Brian Burks (6-3, 3.07 ERA) to the mound on Tuesday where he will be opposed by Mercer freshman righty Chris Bishop (2-3, 5.87).
Tuesday’s game is the first of four for the Yellow Jackets at Russ Chandler Stadium this week, where Georgia Tech is a perfect 21-0 this spring. The Yellow Jackets will play 14 of their final 16 games in the friendly confines, including a three-game ACC series with Virginia this weekend.
