Nissan #ProJackets Baseball Report

Aug. 16, 2017

THE FLATS — From Major Leauge Baseball all the way to Class A Short Season, the Georgia Tech baseball #ProJackets are continuing to play well across the board, highlighted by a number of big bats and bullpen arms over the past week.

Charlie Blackmon continues to swing a hot bat as we head into the final month of the season, as the centerfielder is second in the National League and third in all of Major League Baseball in hitting at .333 on the season. On top of that, Blackmon leads the majors in runs scored (107), triples (14) and total bases (294). He is also ranked second in hits (160) and fourth in slugging percentage (.611) on the year.

In the minor leagues, Trevor Craport has been hitting the cover off the ball as of late, as he has hit .421 with six RBIs and five runs scored over his last 10 games, raising his batting average to .319 over 32 games this summer with the Aberdeen Ironbirds (Class A Short).

At the Triple-A level, Daniel Palka appears to be 100 percent healthy again, as he has hit .341 with a home run and six RBIs over his last 10 games back with the Rochester Red Wings, while Kyle Wren has hit .310 over his last 10 games and has totaled 124 base hits on the year with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox.

On the mound, Andrew Robinson has posted two saves over his last three appearances out of the bullpen for the Harrisburg Senators (Double-A), while Zac Ryan has recorded two wins and a save over his last three outings for the Burlington Bees (Class A).

Below is a complete list of the Baseball #ProJackets playing professionally this season.
