Miller Earns ACC Performer of the Week Honor

Jan. 27, 2009

Georgia Tech’s Jerome Miller has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Indoor Track & Field Performer of the Week, as announced by the conference office Tuesday.

Miller, a senior from Stafford, Va., notched a pair of NCAA qualifying marks last weekend in a meet in Fayetteville, Ark. Miller won the high jump with an NCAA Automatic Qualifying height of 2.25m, only 0.04m shy of the league record. Miller also posted a seventh place finish in the triple jump with a leap of 15.40m, good for NCAA Provisional Qualification.

This is the second ACC P.O.W honor of the season for Miller, who garnered the weekly award on Jan. 13 for his performance at the Clemson Invitational.

The Yellow Jackets will take the weekend off from competition before heading to the Virginia Tech Elite Challenge, Feb. 6-7, in Blacksburg, Va.
