THE FLATS – After a short, one-match road trip, Georgia Tech men’s tennis returns home to Ken Byers Tennis Complex to host ACC foe Virginia on Friday, March 23 at 4 p.m.
The Yellow Jackets (5-8, 1-2 ACC) are coming off a tough loss to red-hot No. 11 Florida State on Sunday, falling 5-2 overall on the day. The Cavaliers (9-5, 2-1 ACC) are riding a three-match win streak into this weekend, getting a huge win over No. 18 Notre Dame on March 18.
Virginia brings two nationally ranked singles players into town, as Carl Soderlund ranks No. 38 and Aleks Vukic ranks No. 32. Soderlund has won four-straight matches while Vukic is 5-1 at the No. 1 spot this year.
Georgia Tech will look to rebound as Carlos Divar and Michael Kay lead the pack. The 11th-ranked doubles duo picked up their fifth-straight doubles match on Sunday, improving to 14-4 on the year and 10-2 in dual play. Kay in singles has also been hot, winning three-straight matches to improve to 9-3 in duals. Divar continues to hold down the fort for ranked Jackets in singles, entering this weekend at No. 54.
