McKee Earns All-ACC Honors At ACC Championships

CLEMSON, S.C. – On the second day of competition at the Atlantic Coast Conference Indoor Championships at Clemson’s Rock Norman Track Complex, Georgia Tech senior Julienne McKee took second in the long jump to earn second team All-ACC honors.

McKeeplaced second in the long jump with a distance of 6.22m to earn Georgia Tech eight team points. She’ll have a chance to place in another event with the triple jump on Saturday. Donjhae Jones earned Georgia Tech three team points with a sixth-place finish in the long jump (5.96m).

In the preliminary running events, Jeremy Greenwald qualified for the mile final with a qualifying time of 4:06.78.

Broderick Snoddy qualified for the finals in the 60 meters with a preliminary time of 6.80 and the 200-meter finals with a time of 21.56 in the preliminaries.

Brandon Lasater and Zack Fanelty both qualified for the 800-meter finals. Lasater took first in the preliminary round with a time of 1:51.30 and Fanelty crossed the line in a time of 1:52.16 for fourth place.

Spencer Allen logged a personal-record performance in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.05, but just missed qualifying for the finals.

The top three finishers in each individual event and the members of each gold medal relay team earn All-ACC honors.

The 2014 ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships conclude with Saturday’s final session, with action beginning at noon. ESPN3 will provide live coverage from the beginning until the conclusion of the session and will also air the event’s awards ceremony.  Veteran Jerry Massey will call the play-by-play, with John Wilkerson handling production.
