PACIFIC PALISADES, CALIF. — Representing Georgia Tech in the qualifying singles draw, senior Rasheeda McAdoo split a pair of matches on Tuesday. The Yellow Jacket fell in the qualifying singles to open the day, but rebounded with a victory in the backdraw.
Splitting a Pair
McAdoo sought advancement in the qualifying singles draw, but fell in the opening round to Texas Tech’s Gabriela Talaba in straight sets. Talaba, preseason ranked No. 56, took the match 6-4, 6-2 over No. 77 McAdoo. With the loss, McAdoo moved to the backdraw where she defeated ACC foe Kimmy Guerin of Wake Forest by default.

McAdoo returns to the court on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. ET to take on Tea Jandric of Ole Miss in the backdraw. Junior Paige Hourigan will open play in main draw singles on Thursday. Draws for main singles will be announced after qualifying rounds are completed on Wednesday.
