Charlotte, N.C. – Georgia Tech All-American Mark Price is being featured in the upcoming ACC Network series “ACC Basketball: Havoline Kings of the Court,” which will air during the month of February on 84 television markets throughout the ACC region.

Hosted by former University of Virginia star and eight-year NBA veteran Cory Alexander, Episode 2 of the Emmy Award-nominated ACC Network syndicated series, will air in Atlanta twice, at 11 p.m. Feb. 8 on WUPA-TV and at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 15 on WXIA-TV.

Nominated for the prestigious Emmy Award for Best Sports Series in each of its first two seasons, “Havoline Kings of the Court” is dedicated to spotlighting the continued tradition of excellence that is Atlantic Coast Conference basketball. The series, three monthly half-hour shows, goes beyond the game to tell the unique story of a player or coach, and how they made a name for themselves in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

The second show of 2014 spotlights former Georgia Tech standout Mark Price. The guard from Enid, Okla., was recruited by Bobby Cremins to play for the Yellow Jackets in the early `80s. Despite many critics doubting his size and skill, Price became one of the best point guards in the country, leading the Tech to the 1985 ACC title while being named ACC Player of the Year. Drafted in 1986, he was one of the most consistent shooters in the NBA. After a 12-year pro career, Price began sharing his knowledge as an assistant coach and consultant to several pro and college teams. Hear how the kid from Oklahoma felt playing for a New York City coach in college and how he is still impacting the game as an NBA assistant coach for the Charlotte Bobcats.

Also featured in this episode is former Duke All-American Bobby Hurley. The guard from Jersey City, N.J. led St. Anthony High School to four straight state titles with his father as coach. During his time at Duke, Hurley led the Blue Devils to two national championships and set the NCAA record for assists with 1,076. Drafted by the Sacramento Kings, Hurley’s pro career was tragically interrupted as a rookie, when an auto accident nearly ended his life. After recovering, Hurley played four seasons in the NBA, but did not attain the success he had in college. But he didn’t stray far from basketball. He joined his younger brother Danny’s coaching staff at Wagner College in 2010 and later at the University of Rhode Island before accepting the head coaching job at the University of Buffalo last year. We visit with Hurley in Buffalo as he talks about his playing days, recovering from the accident and returning to college basketball.
