Mahoney & Howard Named Wendy's Georgia Tech Student-Athletes of the Week

ATLANTA-Track standouts Brendon Mahoney and Chaunte Howard were named the Wendy’s Georgia Tech Student-Athletes of the Week for Monday, February 23, 2004.

Mahoney, a senior from Cummings, Ga., helped lead the Yellow Jackets to a fifth-place finish at the ACC Indoor Championships. He placed first in the 800 meters with a time of 1:53.77. Mahoney garnered another first place finish with his performance in the mile with a time of 4:12.31.

Howard, a sophomore from Riverside, Calif., helped Georgia Tech place second at the ACC Indoor Championships. She captured her second straight ACC Championship in the high jump. Howard broke the ACC, school and track record in the high jump with a mark of 6’2.75″. She tallied a runner-up finish in the long jump with a personal-record of 20’1.00″. She earned her third All-ACC honor of the meet with a third place finish in the triple jump (42’2.25″).
