CLEMSON, S.C. – Senior Andriane Lapsley and sophomore Shantia Moss clocked NCAA Provisional qualifying times in the 60-meter dash (7.43) and 60-meter high hurdles (8.35) to lead Georgia Tech at the Clemson Indoor Track and Field Opener on Friday night.
Lapsley finished first in the preliminaries of the 60-meter dash to advance to the finals. The San Antonio, Texas, native also qualified for the finals of the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.49.
Moss, a native of Tamarac, Fla., qualified for the finals of the 60m hurdles and 60-meter dash, posting a time of 7.77 in the 60m.
Also advancing to the finals of the 60m hurdles for the Jackets was sophomore Tenisha Griggs and freshman David Ford. Griggs posted a time of in the women’s sprint hurdles 8.74, while Ford clocked a time of 8.29 in the men’s 60m hurdles.
Leading Tech in the men’s 5,000 meters was junior Blake Fertitta and sophomore Masato Kan. Fertitta finished seventh with a time of 16:46.14, while Kan tallied a fifth-place finish with a time of 16:28.84.
The Clemson Opener will conclude on Saturday and will begin at 11 a.m.
