GREENSBORO, N.C. – Georgia Tech pitcher Kylie Kleinschmidt was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced Monday. It marks the first career weekly honor for Kleinschmidt.
The junior picked up two wins on the weekend against Indiana and Bowling Green State to improve to 4-0 in the circle. She pitched two complete games, including her second career shutout against Bowling Green State.
Against the Falcons, Kleinschmidt struck out a career-high 12 batters, her previous was nine, including eight of the first 11 batters. She allowed just six hits in 59 batters and one unearned run.
On the season, Kleinschmidt owns a 0.25 ERA and has allowed just one earned run in 28.0 innings pitched with 31 strikeouts. She is holding opponents to a .163 batting average and held last weekend’s opponents to a .125 batting clip.
Kleinschmidt and the Yellow Jackets welcome Stony Brook, Tulsa and Georgia State to Mewborn Field Friday-Sunday when they host the GT-Kennesaw State Invitational.
