GREENSBORO, N.C. – Georgia Tech junior first baseman Kristine Priebe has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Softball Player of the Week the league office announced Tuesday. Priebe, a Moorpark, Calif., native hit .600 (6-for-10) and helped lead No. 10/7 Georgia Tech (32-5) to a weekend sweep of Virginia Tech April 2-3 at Mewborn Field.
Priebe scored five runs on the weekend and had three home runs, including a grand slam, and 12 RBI. She slugged 1.500 in the three games and had a .600 on-base percentage. In Saturday’s series finale against the Hokies, Priebe had her second career multi-home run game and hit her third grand slam of the season. She also recorded a career-high six RBI. In Game One of the series, Priebe was 3-for-3 with a home run and five RBI.
Georgia Tech continues its 12-game homestand when in-state rival Georgia visits Mewborn Field for the first game of a home-and-home series on Wednesday, April 7.
