THE FLATS – Sophomore Katie Johnsky was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday. It marks Johnsky’s first career ACC weekly honor.

Johnsky led Georgia Tech to a three-game series sweep over Boston College this past weekend, in which the Jackets outscored the Eagles, 34-11, over the three-games.

On the season, Johnsky is hitting .346 with just 13 strikeouts in 162 at bats. She’s hitting at a .354 clip in conference play with 10 runs and 17 RBI on 23 hits.

Johnsky and the Yellow Jackets take on North Carolina in the first round of the ACC Tournament at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at JoAnne Graf Field in Tallahassee, Fla. The game will air on ESPN3 with Tom Block and Robin Ahrberg on the call.
