Jackets Take Home Women's Shuttle Hurdle Relay

Final Results

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — On the final day of the Florida Relays, the Georgia Tech track and field team saw standout performances in the women’s shuttle hurdle and in the women’s 4 x 800 relay on Saturday at the Percy Beard Track facility.

“We had a solid day two at the Florida Relays. Ryan Thomas has been very consistent in the triple jump in the early meets of the outdoor season,” added men’s track and field head coach Grover Hinsdale. “Today was another good day for him. Our 4 x 800m relay put up a great fight in a tough field, and the guys in the DMR did the same. Very solid efforts throughout.”

In the women’s shuttle hurdle, Jeanine Williams, Taylor Grimes, Ebony Forbes, and Bria Matthews helped the Jackets turn in a first-place finish with a blazing time of 54.59 to win the event for the second year in a row at the Florida Relays.
On the men’s side, Thomas jumped a 15.21 mark to finish in 14th and the men’s distance medley relay took home a 5th place finish thanks to the effort from Joshua Williams, Anthony Steets, Frank Pittman, and Mike Reilly, with a time of 10:02.17.
In the women’s 4 x 800 relay the Jackets turned in another strong performance. Annie Gallagher, Jordynn Tyndall, Amy Ruiz, and Haley Unthank finished in 7th with a time of 8:50.86, nearly breaking a school record for the Jackets.
The Jackets will be back in action on April 5-6 when they travel to Auburn for the Tiger Track Classic.
