CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — For the second time in four days, Georgia Tech men’s tennis blanked Boston College, 4-0, to advance to the second round of the ACC Tournament on Wednesday afternoon at the Cone-Kenfield Center.

Unaffected by the inclement weather that moved the game back nearly four hours and indoors, the Yellow Jackets brought the energy from the get-go. The doubles team of Phillip Gresk and Andrew Li made swift work of the Eagles’ Conor Mullins and Kent Mukai, taking the No. 3 spot, 6-1, before Tech’s No. 20 duo of Carlos Divar and Michael Kay downed Derek Austin and Sean Mullins, 6-1, for their third-straight win to clinch the doubles point and go up 1-0.

Once in singles, Gresk continued his momentum from last weekend, attacking the No. 3 position to win 6-2, 6-3 over Palmer before many of the other courts had reached a second set. The win gives the Poland native his second-straight victory.

Chris Yun wasted no time going after S. Mullins at the No. 5 spot, taking the first set, 6-1. The second set wouldn’t come as easily as S. Mullins was able to gain some ground, but Yun held him off to take the court, 6-4 and extend his current winning streak to seven-straight matches.

Seconds behind Yun, Andrew Li clinched the match for Georgia Tech at the No. 6 court. Grinding out a 6-4 win in the first set over C. Mullins, Li then found his stride in the second, taking it and the match, 6-1.

Courts 1, 2 and 3 went unfinished with Elijah Melendez leading 6-2, 6-3 over Mukai, Grasel leading Kay 6-4, 1-5, and Austin leading Divar 6-3, 2-4.

The Yellow Jackets will move to play fifth-seeded Virginia Tech on Thursday, April 26 at 2:30 p.m. Earlier this season, Tech led VT 3-0 before dropping a heartbreaking setback to the Hokies, 4-3.
