THE FLATS – Six Georgia Tech women’s tennis players will head to Gainesville, Fla., this week for the ITA Southeast Regionals. Athletes from 17 different schools will be competing at the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex in both singles and doubles competition. Main draw competition begins on Friday and runs through Monday.

Singles and doubles champions from each of the ITA Division I Regional Championships held across the country receive automatic entry into the 2016 ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships. Considered the second leg of the collegiate Grand Slam, the ITA National Indoor championships will be held Nov. 3-6 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y.
All six Georgia Tech players will open action in the main draw on Friday. Main draw singles features 64 players and one round of singles action will take place on Friday. Below is Techs’ schedule:

Three Georgia Tech doubles tandems will compete in main draw doubles which features 32 doubles teams. Action begins Friday morning at 8:30 a.m. Two rounds of doubles play will take place on Friday.

Last Time Out
Georgia Tech last competed at the Riviera/ITA All-American in Pacific Palisades, Calif. Rasheeda McAdoo and Paige Hourigan represented the Jackets in California and each picked up a win in the backdraw of singles action. Prior to the championships, the Jackets last sent multiple players to the Bulldog Challenge in Athens.
Georgia Tech will send select members to the Roberta Allison Invite in Tuscaloosa Oct. 28-29.
