TOP STORYLINES
• Coastal Division champion Georgia Tech baseball heads into the 2021 ACC Championship in Charlotte, N.C. as the No. 2 seed and will play Clemson and Louisville in pool play.
• No. 17 Georgia Tech (21-15) finished with more ACC wins than any team but Notre Dame (25).
• The #CardiacJackets have been on full display in May, playing in six one-run ballgames in their last nine games, winning four of them.
• Tech ranks second in the ACC in hitting (.286), first in hits (498) and doubles (113) and on-base percentage (.379) while ranking second in walks (229) and scoring (6.7).
• Kevin Parada ranks 12th nationally with 19 doubles on the year, while Justyn-Henry Malloy (44) and Tres Gonzalez (38) rank second and fourth, respectively, in the ACC in walks.
• Five Yellow Jackets are hitting .290 or better – Parada (.328), Luke Waddell (.322), Malloy (.307), Gonzalez (.297) and Andrew Jenkins (.290).
• Malloy also ranks 10th in the ACC with an .445 on-base percentage.
• Waddell remains the toughest to strikeout in the ACC and the sixth-toughest nationally, averaging 14.2 at-bats per strikeout this season.
• Tech will look for its stalwart starters LHP Brant Hurter (3.39 ERA), Andy Archer (4.88 ERA) to be sharp down the stretch. True freshman RHP Marquis Grissom, Jr. has worked five or more innings in back-to-back starts, holding teams to two or fewer runs.
• In three starts in May, Hurter has a 2-0 record and a 1.71 ERA, working to allow just four earned runs in 21.0 innings of work with a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 18:3.
