THE FLATS – Georgia Tech women’s basketball, seeded 9th in the 2019 ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament, will open play on Thursday facing 8th-seeded North Carolina. The Jackets and Tar Heels will tipoff at 2 p.m. on RSN.
The 42nd annual tournament will take place March 6-10 at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, N.C. All games will be televised during the tournament.
North Carolina took the lone meeting between the squads during the regular season in Chapel Hill. Freshman Elizabeth Balogun hit three free throws with 2.7 ticks on the clock, but Carolina answered converting the back end of a pair of free throws to follow to seal the 91-90 victory. Balogun finished with a career-high 35 points, while Lorela Cubaj added a double-double.
All 14 games of the tournament will be televised. The first, second and quarterfinal rounds will be carried by the league’s regional sports network, RSN. Both Saturday semifinal games will be broadcast on ESPNU with the championship game on Sunday tipping at noon on ESPN2. In addition, all games will be available on the ESPN and FOX Sports apps.
