THE FLATS — Georgia Tech men’s tennis (5-5) will host No. 21 Florida State on Friday afternoon at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex.
The Yellow Jackets are coming off a tough, 4-2 loss to No. 26 Tennessee, their first home loss of the season (5-1).
Florida State, sits at 10-2 on the season, riding a two game win streak where in their last match took down ACC-rival, Clemson, 4-0.
In the Jackets’ last match, against No. 26 Tennessee, No. 106 freshmen Cole Gromley picked up a win in singles, defeating Luca Wiedenmann, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1.
Despite the Jackets winning the doubles point and Gromley winning his match in singles, the Jackets trailed Tennessee 3-2, with Carlos Divar and Andrew Li both needing to pick up singles wins.
Li, however, would fall in a three-set match to Scott Jones, 4-6, 7 (9) – 6, 7-5.
Divar’s match was called early due to Li’s defeat, clinching the match for Tennessee.
