Jackets Host San Diego in First of Seven Consecutive Home Games

Dec. 8, 2005

ATLANTA – The Georgia Tech women’s basketball team will return to action this Friday night when it hosts the San Diego Toreros in a game that will begin at 7 p.m. at Alexander Memorial Coliseum.

This will be the first meeting between the two teams, and the Yellow Jackets are 2-0 against first-time opponents in 2005-06 and 9-2 against them under head coach MaChelle Joseph.

The Jackets are looking to rebound after dropping their first game of the season this past Sunday in Athens, when they lost a six-point game to instate rival Georgia, who was ranked 17th in the nation. Tech enters Friday’s game with a 5-1 record while the Toreros come to town owning a 3-4 mark this season.

Friday night’s game will also be the first of seven-straight home contests for Georgia Tech, as they will follow up the game against San Diego with three games over a five-day span at AMC after Final’s week concludes next week.
