THE FLATS — Georgia Tech men’s tennis (6-6, 1-2) will host No. 7 North Carolina (9-2, 2-0) on Friday and No. 44 Duke (6-8, 0-3) on Sunday at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex.
Last weekend, the Jackets had the week off after splitting matches with No. 21 Florida State and Clemson the weekend before. The Jackets fell to the Tigers in Clemson, 4-3 after defeating the Seminoles at home, 4-3.
The Tar Heels have been on fire as of late, winning two in a row including four out of their last five. In their last match, the Tar Heels defeated Virginia Tech, 7-0.
The Blue Devils, meanwhile are 1-2 in their last three matches with a victory over No. 23 Penn, and losses to Virginia Tech and No. 2 Wake Forest.
On the season, Carlos Divar and Phillip Gresk have both been a steady force for the Yellow Jackets. As doubles partners the two have accumulated for a 9-2 record, winning their last six matches.
In singles, Divar ranks No. 30 in the latest ITA poll and has an overall record of 9-3, while Gresk has an overall record of 10-5 in singles.
