ATLANTA – No. 21 Georgia Tech (35-9, 6-2 ACC) will host NC State (31-19, 2-3 ACC) in an Atlantic Coast Conference three-game series this Saturday and Sunday, April 9-10, at Glenn Field. The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday at Noon and a single game on Sunday at Noon.
Tech sits atop the ACC standings for the third consecutive week at 6-2. The Yellow Jackets split with Virginia last weekend and won the previous two; 2-1 versus North Carolina and 3-0 against Florida State.
Senior pitcher Jessica Sallinger will shoot for her 100th career victory in the circle for the Yellow Jackets this weekend. Sallinger, a native of Kennesaw, Ga., would become the second ACC pitcher to eclipse the 100-win plateau and the 40th Division I pitcher in NCAA history to do so.
The Jackets continue to lead the ACC in batting average (.297), runs scored (223), slugging percentage (.394), on base percentage (.350), walks (147) and stolen bases (108).
Georgia Tech appears in the rankings for the 10th consecutive week, the longest in school history. Tech is No. 21 in both the USA Today/NFCA and ESPN.com/USA Softball Top 25 polls.
Live stats will be provided on www.ramblinwreck.com for all Tech games.
Series with NC State
The Wolfpack’s inaugural softball season was 2004, in which Tech and NC State split a doubleheader in Raleigh, 2-0 and 0-2, but the Jackets defeated the Wolfpack in the opening round of the ACC Tournament, 2-1, in Tallahassee, Fla.
