ATLANTA – No. 23 Georgia Tech (31-10) will try and end a three-game skid as the Yellow Jackets host Georgia State (13-20) for a non-conference doubleheader on Wednesday, April 7. The Jackets have already beaten the Lady Panthers twice this season, 6-0 and 8-0 (5), on Feb. 21 and 22, at Panthersville Field.
Senior All-American shortstop Tara Knudsen continues to lead the GT attack. Knudsen is hitting an Atlantic Coast Conference’s best .446, with 13 doubles, 10 home runs and 36 runs batted in. The Thornton, Colo., native needs two more doubles to break the Tech career record of 44, held by former player Lindsay Wood (2000-03).
Senior Erin Voeltz and junior Jessica Sallinger continue to be a solid one-two punch in the circle for the Yellow Jackets. Sallinger leads the team in wins (19) and ERA (0.67), while Voeltz ranks second in wins (12) and ERA (1.04).
Tech will host Virginia in ACC action this Saturday, April 10. The conference doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. at Glenn Field. The action can be followed on www.ramblinwreck.com. All games played on Glenn Field are free admission.
