The Jackets’ pitching staff only allowed two earned runs in 24.0 innings of work, and senior Sarah Wood and junior Whitney Humphreys have started the season a perfect 3-0. Sophomore reliever Lacey Richardson has yet to allow an earned run this young season in 5.0 innings of work.
Senior Caitlin Lever leads the team with a .556 batting average. The outfielder has one home run, three runs batted in, six walks and two stolen bases in three attempts. Preseason All-American sophomore Whitney Haller connected on her first and second home runs of the season last weekend and is batting .450.
Senior Kristina Hull hit .667 last weekend to push her season batting average to .545. She has driven in five runs so far this season as the designated player.
The Yellow Jackets have never lost to Gardner-Webb, posting a perfect 7-0 record. Tech is riding a four-game winning streak heading into this doubleheader and has homered in 10 consecutive games, dating back to last year.
