THE FLATS – Georgia Tech track and field returns to action this weekend as it heads to Clemson, S.C. to compete at the Bob Pollock Invitational from Jan. 27-28.
Action on Friday kicks off at 3 p.m. ET with the men’s pole vault and women’s 800m. Competition on Saturday will start at 11 a.m. ET with the women’s shot put.
This is Tech’s second trip to Clemson this season. The Jackets kicked off the 2017 indoor season in Clemson with the Orange & Purple Classic on Jan. 7. Freshmen Benjamin Jean and Sam Costa posted first-place finishes at the meet.
In their last outing, the Yellow Jackets posted a total of 19 career-best marks at the Vanderbilt Invitational in Nashville on Jan. 20-21. On the men’s side, Christian Bowles led the way with a first-place finish in the 3000m.
Senior Kenya Collins notched her third top-three finish in the 60m hurdles with a third-place finish at the Vanderbilt Invitational. She also has a third-place finish at the Orange & Purple Classic and a first-place finish at the BSC Indoor Icebreaker.
The Jackets have four more tests ahead of them before traveling to South Bend, Ind. for the ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships from Feb. 23-25.
