NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Georgia Tech track and field slashed four career bests on a day one of the Vanderbilt Invitational on Friday. Competition picks back up Saturday morning at 10:30 ET/9:30 CT with the 3000-meter run.
Senior Carissa Tipler notched a career best in the long jump with a mark of 6.01m on her way to a sixth-place finish. Freshman Briana Hayden shows continued improvement, besting her time from the Commodore Invitational in the 200m with a time of 25.03.
Freshman Denise Woode also recorded a career best in the 200m with a time of 25.48. Sophomore Dasia Smith posted a personal record in the indoor 200m dash, finishing with a time of 26.73.
On the men’s side, only jumper William Solomon competed on Friday. The California native notched a mark of 7.28m in is seventh place finish in the long jump.
