ATLANTA – After defeating two ranked teams last weekend at the NFCA Leadoff Classic, No. 14 Nebraska (1-0) and No. 16 Fresno State (9-1), the Georgia Tech softball team snagged a No. 24/25 ranking in the polls this week. Tech (15-3) is No. 24 in the USA Today/NFCA Top 25 poll and No. 25 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 poll. UCLA (16-0) remains No. 1 in both polls.
Florida State, the only other Atlantic Coast Conference team ranked, advanced to the Gold Championship game last weekend at the NFCA Leadoff Classic and moved up six spots in the ESPN.com poll to No. 3. The Seminoles are No. 6 in the NFCA poll.
Georgia Tech will host Georgia Southern for a non-conference doubleheader at 2 p.m. this afternoon at Glenn Field.
