Jacket Volleyball Defeats UT-Chattanooga in Three Games

CHATTANOOGA, TN – In its second match of the day, the Georgia Tech (7-2) volleyball team defeated UT-Chattanooga (4-6) in three games, 15-11, 15-8, 15-6, on September 12. Earlier in the afternoon, the Yellow Jackets defeated Georgia State in three games, 15-1, 15-5, 15-7.

Tech was led by Kyleen Bell (Rocklin, Calif.) who had a match-high 17 kills and 11 digs on the night. Junior Maja Pachale (Schwerin, Germany) added 10 kills and 10 digs, while senior Teryl Townsend (Alexandria, Minn.) tallied seven kills and 11 digs. Courtney Adler (Longmont, Colo.) recorded 22 assists while Kele Eveland (Grand Rapids, Mich.) chipped in 19, as the two setters shared the offensive responsibilities.

The Mocs were lead by Cheryl Theis who had 11 kills and 11 digs while Sarah Dutcher collected 15 digs.

Georgia Tech returns to action at 7 p.m. on Friday night as they travel to take on Loyola-Chicago (3-3) in the first round of the Colorado State Invitational in Fort Collins, Colo.
