Jack Named ACC Player of the Week

ATLANTA – Georgia Tech sophomore Jarrett Jack was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week Monday after leading the Yellow Jackets to a 3-0 start last week.

Jack directed the Yellow Jackets to wins in the Preseason NIT against Louisiana-Lafayette (79-45) and Hofstra (75-56) and a road contest against Cornell, and earned their way into the Preseason NIT semifinals Wednesday night at 9:30 p.m. against No. 1 Connecticut.

The 6-3 sophomore guard averaged 14.7 points and 10.0 assists for the week, while posting back-to-back double-doubles versus the Ragin Cajuns (11 points/11 assists) and the Pride (12 points/11 assists) to help the Ramblin Wreck advance to New York. In Tech’s first road game of the season Sunday, he tied a career high with 21 points while dishing out eight assists to guide Tech past Cornell, 90-69. In the three games, Jack shot 45.5 percent from three-point range, while averaging 5.7 rebounds.
