ATLANTA – Georgia Tech’s Jarrett Jack, who scored a season-high 26 points in a narrow loss to No. 2 Kansas on Saturday, has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week.
Jack made 10 of 12 shots from the floor and went four-for-four from the foul line in Saturday’s 70-68 overtime loss in Lawrence. The 6-3, 198-pound junior from Fort Washington, Md., also had three assists, five rebounds and two steals. Earlier in the week, Jack scored 10 points, grabbed nine rebounds and has five assists in the Yellow Jackets’ 92-58 win over Lafayette Wednesday.
Saturday’s performance helped elevate Jack into the team scoring lead at 14.3 points per game. Jack also leads the Yellow Jackets in field goal percentage at 59.8 percent, which ranks third in the ACC, three-point percentage at 42.1 percent, free throw shooting at 88.6 percent, which ranks second in the ACC, and assists (4.7 per game).
Tech’s next game is 7 p.m. Thursday against Miami at Alexander Memorial Coliseum, the ACC opener for both teams. The game will be televised throughout the ACC region on FSN South, Sunshine Network and Comcast SportsNet.
