ATHENS, Ga. – Georgia Tech women’s tennis freshman Paige Hourigan and sophomore Rasheeda McAdoo finished play at the Bulldog Tennis Class in Athens, Ga. on Sunday afternoon.
McAdoo won her singles match against Maria Avgerinos of Wisconsin in the consolation draw. McAdoo edged her opponent in set one, 7-6 (5) and cruised to a 6-0 victory in set two.
In the main draw singles semifinals, Hourigan fell in two close sets to the number-one overall seed, Mariana Gould of Georgia. Gould defeated Hourigan, 7-5, in set one and then edged Hourigan, 7-5, in set two.
Hourigan and McAdoo lost their first doubles match as a pair this season to Perez and Garcia of Georgia. Hourigan and McAdoo fell, 8-2.
The Yellow Jackets are back in action this weekend when they host the USTA/ITA Southeast Regionals at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex from Oct. 17-20.
