Honeycutt Earns ACC Honor

Sept. 6, 2005

Georgia Tech tackle Brad Honeycutt was named Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Lineman of the Week after helping the Yellow Jackets (1-0) to a 23-14 victory at 16th-ranked Auburn.

The 6-4, 315-pound senior from Mesquite, Texas, was the Jackets’ top peforming lineman as Tech ended the Tigers’ 15-game winning streak.

Honeycutt recorded 14 knockdown blocks in his first game at tackle after starting at guard for the last two seasons. He had numerous key blocks to help pave the way for P.J. Daniels to rush for 111 yards against one of the nation’s strongest defenses.

Tech, now ranked 17th, opens ACC play this week by hosting North Carolina Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Bobby Dodd Stadium/Grant Field. The game will be regionally-televised on ABC.
