THE FLATS – An Atlanta native who attended South Atlanta High School with former Tech star Derrick Favors, Nick Jacobs transferred to Georgia Tech from Alabama, and will sit out the 2014-15 season and play his final year in 2015-16.
Jacobs played in 93 games and made 57 starts for the Crimson Tide, averaging 7.3 points and 3.4 rebounds per game.
Before enrolling at Alabama, Jacobs led South Atlanta High School to the AAA state title and was named AAA player of the year in Georgia. He was a four-star-rated prospect, was ranked the No. 10 forward in his class and the 85th-best prospect overall.
Jacobs wore No. 15 at Alabama, but will wear No. 54 at Tech.
