Head Coach Ehren Earleywine Leads Team USA at Pan Am Games

ATLANTA – Head softball coach Ehren Earleywine will try and guide the United States to its second straight Gold Medal at the Pan Am Games in the Dominican Republic in men’s fastpitch softball. Earleywine is participating on the ASA Men’s Fastpitch team for the third time. Team USA will open play on Thursday, August 7, against Mexico at 1 p.m. ET.

Earleywine was part of Team USA who captured the Gold Medal in 2002 at the Pan Am Games. He plays in the outfield for the United States and is a six-time ASA All-America selection. He was an All-World selection by the International Softball Congress in 1999 after playing for Team U.S.A. for the first time.

Earleywine heads into his third season at Tech, first as head coach, in 2003-04. He inherits a 38-25 squad that made it to the semifinals of the NCAA Regional hosted by Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

The Pan Am Men’s Fastpitch Games can be followed on-line at www.usasoftball.com. Other teams that qualified for the Pan Am Games in men’s fastpitch are Argentina, Canada, Dominican Republic and Venezuela.
