THE FLATS – Season tickets for the Georgia Tech women’s basketball team’s fifth season at McCamish Pavilion are now on sale.
Season tickets can be purchased for the low price of $65. In addition, all men’s basketball season-ticket holders will be able to purchase women’s basketball season tickets for only $25.
Fans can purchase season tickets by visiting RamblinWreck.com, calling 1-888-TECH-TIX or by visiting the ticket office at 150 Bobby Dodd Way.
Georgia Tech students are admitted free to all home games with their BuzzCard. On Sundays, fans aged 18 and under will be admitted free and are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the free Georgia Tech Kid Zone inside on the main concourse behind section 112.
Head coach MaChelle Joseph, who is the all-time winningest coach in Georgia Tech women’s basketball history, is at the helm of the Yellow Jackets for her 14th season. Georgia Tech welcomes back rising senior Katarina Vuckovic, who started 26 games and played in all 33 last season, and averaged 8.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 28.2 minutes per game.
Juniors Antonia Peresson, Zaire O’Neil, Imani Tilford and Simina Avram also return to the court for Georgia Tech. Peresson averaged 7.2 points and 1.4 assists in 21.3 minutes, while O’Neil Averaged 6.6 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 14.2 minutes through 24 games. Tilford played in all 33 games, making 20 starts last season. She averaged 4.7 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 23.3 minutes per game, and led the team with 61 steals.
Georgia Tech welcomes four new faces to this year’s roster – guard Zutorya Cook (Marietta, Ga.), post player Anne Francoise Diouf (Dakar, Senegal), wing Francesca Pan (Bassno del Grappa, Italy) and wing Chanin Scott (Charlotte, N.C.).
Home non-conference opponents include: Samford, Georgia, Dayton, Georgia State, Mercer, Appalachian State, and Princeton. Away non-conference opponents include: Missouri/Creighton, Michigan (ACC/Big 10 Challenge), Alabama and MTSU. The entire 2016-17 schedule will be announced later this summer.
