THE FLATS – The Georgia Tech women’s basketball team plays nine times at McCamish Pavilion and hits the road for six games during the 2014-15 nonconference season.

“Our non-conference schedule is very challenging for our young team,” head coach MaChelle Joseph said. “We are excited to host Georgia on November 23 and our annual Georgia Tech Holiday Tournament on December 29 and 30, which includes Harvard, Lipscomb and LA Tech. “

The Yellow Jackets begin by hosting an exhibition game against Flagler on November 2. Tech will officially open the 2014-15 season on the road this year, traveling to Loyola Chicago on November 14. This will be the first time the Jackets and the Ramblers have met in school history and the first time that Tech has opened its season on the road since the 2005-06 campaign.

The Jackets return home to Atlanta to host four opponents beginning with Morgan State on November 16 and Kennesaw State on November 19. Tech will play in-state rival Georgia at home on November 23 and take on Grambling State on November 25.

Tech then heads to Naples, Fla. to participate in the prestigious Gulf Coast Showcase at the Germain Arena from November 28-30. Georgia Tech will be joined by defending national champions Connecticut, Arizona State, College of Charleston, Green Bay, Minnesota, Villanova and Vanderbilt. Tech along with Connecticut, Arizona State and Vanderbilt all made the 2014 NCAA Tournament.  Tech’s first game of the tournament will be against Green Bay with its next potential opponent being either Villanova or Arizona State.

“We are honored to be selected to participate in the Gulf Coast Showcase,” Joseph said. “We will have the opportunity to compete against some of the best programs in the country in Green Bay, Villanova, Minnesota and Connecticut.”

The Jackets stay on the road, traveling to Michigan State as a part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Tech is 6-1 all-time in the challenge and it marks the second time the Jackets and the Spartans have met. Tech hosts central Arkansas on December 14 and Alabama State on December 17, before traveling to St. Francis NY on December 20.

The Jackets wrap up the non-conference portion of their schedule by hosting the Georgia Tech Holiday Tournament for the second year in a row. This year, Tech welcomes Lipscomb, Harvard and Louisiana Tech for the tournament that begins on December 29. The Jackets face Lipscomb on the first day of the tournament, while Harvard will face Louisiana Tech. The tournament’s consolation and championship games will be played on December 30.

Georgia Tech faces conference rivals Clemson and Notre Dame in home-and-away games during the 2014-15 ACC season. The Yellow Jackets will also host Duke, Florida State, N.C. State, Pittsburgh, Syracuse and Virginia Tech. Notre Dame advanced to the 2014 NCAA Tournament Championship game while Florida State, N.C. State and Syracuse all made the NCAA Tournament in 2014. Tech travels to Boston College, ACC newcomer Louisville, Miami, North Carolina, Virginia and Wake Forest during the season.

The Yellow Jackets complete schedule will be released at a later date.

Season tickets for the Yellow Jackets’ third season at McCamish Pavilion and the 12th year under head coach  are now on sale. Season tickets can be purchased for the low price of only $50 until September 1. Georgia Tech students are admitted free to all home games with their BuzzCard.
