THE FLATS – Seventeen home games and 10 games against NCAA Tournament teams from last season highlight the 2015-16 Georgia Tech women’s basketball schedule, which was released by the Atlantic Coast Conference on Wednesday.
“We have a very competitive conference schedule,” head coach MaChelle Joseph said. “We open up at Notre Dame and return home to host Louisville. I am very excited for my young team to have the opportunity to compete early against a few of the top teams in the ACC. It is great for our fans that we will host Louisville, North Carolina, Notre Dame and Miami along with a few other very challenging ACC opponents.”
The Yellow Jackets will play a total of 29 regular season games and one exhibition game during head coach MaChelle Joseph’s 13th season on the Flats. The ACC portion of the Yellow Jackets’ schedule includes home-and-home series with national champion runners up Notre Dame and Clemson. Georgia Tech will also host conference foes Louisville, North Carolina, Virginia, Boston College, Miami and Wake Forest this season.
Louisville, along with Notre Dame, Florida State, North Carolina, Syracuse, Miami, Duke, Pittsburgh and non-conference opponents St. Francis Brooklyn and Alabama State, are the Yellow Jackets’ 10 opponents that all made the NCAA Tournament last season.
Currently, the Yellow Jackets are scheduled to appear on national and regional television three times. When Georgia Tech travels to Florida State on Sunday, Jan. 10, the contest will be shown on the ACC Regional Sports Network at 4 p.m. The Jackets will appear on the ACC Regional Sports Network two more times, when they host Notre Dame on Thursday, Jan. 28 at 7 p.m. and Boston College on January 31 at 3 p.m.
Georgia Tech opens up the ACC portion of its schedule on the road for the second-straight season, making the trip to Notre Dame on Wed., December 30. Following the New Year, the Yellow Jackets host Louisville at home for the first time in school history on Sunday, Jan. 3. The Jackets then head back on the road for two straight games, heading to NC State on Thursday, Jan. 7 and Florida State on Sunday, Jan. 10.
The Yellow Jackets return back to the Flats for the next four of five games, hosting North Carolina on Thursday, Jan. 14, Virginia on Sunday, Jan. 17, Notre Dame on Thursday, Jan. 28and Boston College on Sunday, Jan. 31 with a trip up to Clemson sandwiched in-between on Sunday, Jan. 24.
Georgia Tech is then back on the road the next weekend, traveling to Virginia Tech on Thursday, Feb. 4and Syracuse on Sunday, Feb. 7. The Yellow Jackets welcome Miami on Thursday, Feb. 11 and Clemson on Sunday, Feb. 14 to McCamish Pavilion, before hitting the road to Duke on Sunday, Feb. 21 and Pittsburgh on Thursday, Feb. 28.

The 39th annual ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament will take place Wednesday-Sunday, March 2-6 at the Greensboro Coliseum. The Championship will begin with three first-round games on Wednesday, followed by the second round, quarterfinals, semifinals and title contest in successive days. RSN will carry the first three days of action, while ESPNU will have the semifinals and ESPN will televise the championship game at 1 p.m.
Season tickets for the Yellow Jackets’ fourth season at McCamish Pavilion and the 13th year under head coach are now on sale. Georgia Tech students are admitted free to all home games with their BuzzCard. On Sundays, all children 18 and under will be admitted free and are welcome to arrive early to enjoy Georgia Tech’s Kid Zone.
